“It was my first ‘digital’ head credit sequence, until then everything had been
traditional animation camera work” comments title designer John Furniotis in an email. “It was a very exciting and rewarding experience.”
The opening title sequence of Crash works really well in the cinema. The credits moving slowly towards you, the lights coming up from the blue screen refer to the headlights of approaching cars. And the almost eerie guitar sounds add a sense of mystery. Like the chrome bumpers and the coachwork of the cars in the movie, the credits are rendered with a shiny, chrome surface. Not perfectly shaped, but dented.
