"Simpel typography, powerful images and a strong score. That says it all," comments designer Rogier Hendriks.
"We met Joss Monzon at the FITC Festival in Toronto”, says Hendriks, “He's the head of Mucho Motion, an agency based in Toronto. Joss approached us to do the title sequence for this film by Guillermo Arriaga [the writer] - an independent low budget production. It sounded like an interesting project, so we went for it. After sending back and forth several complex story boards and very expressive design concepts, we finally came to the conclusion that this film, in terms of look-and-feel and storyline, would be much better off with a simple title sequence - one that's much more in tune with what the film is about."
"The tattoo scene refers to a scene in the movie where the main character is getting a tattoo of the proverbial buffalo that he's hunted by. That scene was shot in Mexico by the director and later edited and color corrected in our studio in Delft."
"The intro sequence consists of two parts. A more quiet opener that shows the names of the people who made the film happen. After that comes the first scene that starts off the story and sets the tone for the rest of the film. Then the title sequence continues with the rest of the main credits."
