From the revolutionary films of the French New Wave to the commercial French comedies that were popular throughout Europe - French cinema flourished in the period from the 1950s till the 1980s. The evolution of French cinema is reflected in this selection of French title sequences, guest curated by Laure Chapalain and Hervé Tissot.

Laure Chapalain is a freelance graphic designer. Since 2007, she has been working with photographer Magali Lambert in the partnership Laure et Magali. Together they work for edition, culture and marketing. They have regular exhibitions in Paris and published two books. They are now working on a documentary mixing video and animated cartoons. Laure teaches the history of film title design at Gobelins School of the Image in Paris and at Sup de Pub.

Hervé Tissot
is a French graphic designer who is leading the photographic and motion design studies departement at Gobelins School of the Image in Paris. With Laure Chapalain, he founded the French association We Love Your Names dedicated to the art of film titles.
